Premise[edit]

Fundamentally Cynical centers around the life of a camp counselor named "Lizard Boy" and the summer camp that he works at. The camp is named after the owner, a reclusive man named, Hugh Dingle-Dork. Most episodes are based around their interaction with the campers, all of which are young, cynical children

Voice Cast[edit]

  • Preston Hazard as Lizard Boy, A camp counselor. Herman, Toadlick, Zortock, Flacknor, and Hugh Dingle-Dork.
  • Tad Doyle as Thomas the Lumberjack. As well as additional characters.[5]
  • Lyon Daniels as Stumble Bum[6][7]

Production[edit]

While still in high school Hazard began writing the concept for Fundamentally Cynical with former "John Flywheel" bassist and writer Keith Smoker, whom he met while working on a prior project titled "The Garbage Can Man Show".[9] From there Hazard began self-animating each 2-5 minute long "episode" from his home in Connecticut. The program's first season made Its debut on Prime Video on January 1st, 2019, and ran until October 15th of the same year. Following the release of the first season, a second season was again green-lit by Amazon and released on December 8, 2019.[10][self-published source] During the pre-production stage of the second season, former Tad (band) frontman, Thomas Doyle began composing the soundtrack for the series. [11] Since the second season Dave Abbruzzese (Former drummer of Pearl Jam), Joe Daniels (drummer) (Former drummer of Local H), and Jason Gray-Stanford (Actor who played Randy Disher on USA Network's Monk (TV series)) joined the list of cast members
