Funded companies in India

India has become a hub for venture capital. Both indigenous and international Venture Capitalists are putting their money in Indian start ups.[1][2] Historically in India, companies were usually funded by banking institutions like ICICI and IDBI. However, the actual need of Venture Capital was realised in the 7th five year plan and a long term fiscal policy of Government of India. The Venture capital financing could only start in 1988 with economic liberalisation when TDICI (Technology Development and Information Company of India Ltd.) was formed which was promoted by ICICI and UTI.[3][4]
