Fusine Govaert (born April 27, 1998) is an American field hockey player, who plays as a defender.
Personal life
Fusine Govaert was born and grew up in the Netherlands. Her father, Theophile "Phile" Govaert, and her mother, Maryse Govaert, are Dutch. She has two younger siblings who are also field hockey players: Phile Jr. (brother) and Hanke (sister). Field hockey is one of the most played sports in the Netherlands. The club scene plays a big role in members’ social lives. At age 4, when Govaert's friends were signed up, her parents signed her up as well. Later, her younger siblings also started to play, and the weekends were spent around the field hockey fields.
Govaert attended Rye High School. She graduated from Boston College in 2021.
Career
National team
Govaert began her field hockey career at AH&BC field hockey club in Amsterdam.
In June 2023, Govaert was officially added to the national squad.
