Gülçin Çakır;( born 16 march 1981) is a Turkish actor who started her theatre acting career in state theatres at 2001. Her first Tv series was İki Aile (2007–2008) . Since then, she has had further lead roles in many plays and Tv films. Her best known role is Lale Zara [2] in the Valley of the Wolves: Ambush

Life and career[edit]

Gülçin Çakır was born in Sivas, Turkey.[3]

She finished high school education in the Sivas High School[4].After finishing high school in 1999, she entered Atatürk University Fine Art Faculity and completed school in four years.She started her professional career first in Turkish State Theatre right after university graduation. During when she was acting in Theatres she made tv films and worked as asistant of Director.At 2007 she went to United States to study Tv acting.[5] In United States she went to college to learn Tv acting and worked as Drama teacher with children [6].She lived in the United States for 2 years before returning to Turkey.

In Istanbul, Gülçin Çakır met Raci Şaşmaz, who offered her a main role in the Valley of the Wolves. She played the character Lale Zara[7] between episods 87-180 as a very powerful organisation leader[8] in the series. At the same time she continued theatre acting at state theatres[9]She participated Çayda Çıra Film Festival(5th,6th) as a special guest and was awarded a plaque[10].

In 2012 she began to study her cinema master degree at Marmara University. Gulcin Cakir completed her master's research on Investigatin Of The Impact Of Social Pressures And Superstition On Women In Turkish Cinema Perspective and wrote a thesis [11] on the same subject.Than she made her short film What Everybody Says? which is a continuation of the subject and participated in Flying Broom [12] and Boston Turkish Film Festivals opening movie at 2013. In extra she had Three short movies as leading actress as shown at IMDB database[13]. She worked an other feature movie as an actress called Wish to wash with rain whish Movie won colorful movie award at Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival[14]. Gülcin Cakir moved to United Kingdom at 2016 and she is the first Turkish actress who directed a Turkish play[15] in Manchester,United Kingdom[16] Her directing and acting career still continous in United Kingdom[17] She is married and have two children[18]
