The GAZ-33 was a truck produced from 1941 to 1946. The truck's design directly previewed that of the GAZ-53. The vehicle replaced the aging GAZ-AAA which was produced alongside the GAZ-33 until 1946, when the GAZ-33 stopped getting produced due to very low sales. Due to these occurrences it is considered a concept vehicle by fans.[1]
Around 350 units of these trucks were ever sold and most of them went to the military. The truck was offered both as a 6-wheeler and a 4-wheeler. The truck was not very popular due to the army using the GAZ-51, which was more reliable. The truck suffered many mechanical problems and was not a high-quality truck.[2]
Production ended in 1946, with around 38 units being sold that year. GAZ stopped making 6-wheelers due to the low sales of these trucks, until 1969 the arrival of the GAZ-56.[3]
