GB Sounds
GB Sounds (Japanese: ＧＢプレイヤー GB Player) is an item only found in the Pokémon games, Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. It is a Key Item in the games. A similar item named DS Sounds was created in the game, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
Description from the games
A music player that allows you to listen to nostalgic songs. It's operated with a single switch.[1]
How it is obtained
GB Sounds can only be obtained after the player has earned all 16 badges. To obtain it, the player must go to the 3rd floor of Celadon Condominiums and talk to the Game Freak sound designer.[2]
Effects
If GB Sounds is used, music that sounds like Pokémon Gold and Silver will start playing instead of the original music made for Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. In fact, this item was made with the intention of making players listen to the Chiptune music once again. GB Sounds also added new Chiptune music which was originally not present in Pokémon Gold and Silver.[3] [4]
