GMA News Online (formerly GMANews.TV) is a news website owned by GMA News and Public Affairs, the news division of GMA Network. It was launched on 2006.
The website's operation and advertising is handled by GMA New Media's subsidiary, Media Merge Corporation while the contents are from GMA News and Public Affairs Digital team. The website is currently one of the umbrella website of GMANetwork.com

It is one of the major source of news from international, national to regional. It also features news about business, sports, science & technology, entertainment, as well as health and lifestyle tips, video reports, special reports, mobile alerts, newsletters, RSS feeds, and real time search.[1] It also features articles from international news agencies like Associated Press and Reuters. A livestream of DZBB Super Radyo is also available.
GMA New Media also developed a mobile application for Android and IOS users. The mobile app allow users to access GMA contents through their handheld devices.

2006 - GMA launches brand new portal, GMANews.TV. It contains stories about news, business, sports, and entertainment. It is available in four languages.[2]
January 2007 - GMA Network and Inquirer ended their partnership to focus on GMA's own website, GMANews.TV.[3] [3]
December 2010 - It received one million page views per day. Half of the views were came from Philippines and the other half were from United States, Canada, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong. On the May 10 national election, it received 12 million visitors in less than 24 hours.[4]
February 7, 2011 - The website was renamed GMA News Online after the launch of news channel, GMA News TV but the original URL, www.gmanews.tv stay the same. A new slogan was introduced.[5]
May 9-11 2016 - The website recorded 109, 802, 626 page views almost 90 million over its rival ABS-CBNnews.com, which only managed a total of 19 million views. The data was from Effective Measure, a social media analytics. This was during the 2016 Philippine general election.[6]
GMA News and Public Affairs social media accounts[edit]
GMA News and Public Affairs' social media accounts are manage by GMA News and Public Affairs Digital. It is one of the top news publisher in the Philippines. Its Facebook page has over 17 million followers and 15 million likes, 6 million followers on Twitter, 1.5 million on Instagram, and 6.7 million subscribers and 6 billion.
Meanwhile, GMA Public Affairs has 3 million likes and 3.5 million followers on Facebook, 250 thousand on Instagram, and 100 thousand on Twitter. On YouTube, it surpassed 10 million subscribers making the GMA the only Philippine TV network and second on Southeast Asia to surpassed 10 million subscribers on the platform.[7] Currently, its YouTube channel has 11 million subscribers and 6.5 billion views.
GMA Network Portal[edit]
GMA Network Portal (gmanetwork.com) is a web portal manage by GMA New Media, the digital and technology arm of GMA Network. It was launched on 2011.
Some of its features are the GMA News Online, GMA Entertainment Website, IM Ready Public Service Portal, the GMA Affordabox website, the GMA Regional TV website, the and Kapuso Foundation website.
According to Alexa Internet, it is ranked 7 in Philippines and ranked 543 global.[8][9]
Awards[edit]
- It won in the Philippine Web Awards as Best Media Website held on December 7, 2006.[10]
- GMANews.TV bags three awards on 5th PopDev Media Awards. Claire Delfin's "Child pornography: Evil that preys silently on poor Filipino children" won the Best Investigate Report, another work of Delfin was also a runner-up on the same category. A story of Joseph Holandes Ubalde was won as runner-up on Feature and Magazine Article category. GMA News Research and GMA Public Affairs was also won on the same event.[11]
- On 2010, it won on 2010 DigitalFilipino.com on Television Website category for the high user engagement and audience reach.[12]
