From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Global Online Professional Asset eXchange, or GOPAX, is a South Korean cryptocurrency exchange.

History[edit]

GOPAX was launched by Streami Inc., a blockchain services company, in November 2017.[1]

Following its launch, GOPAX formed a partnership with Stellar in December 2017.[2]

In May 2018, GOPAX announced a formal partnership with the blockchain-based social networking website Steemit. As part of its announcement, GOPAX and Steemit co-hosted a meetup in Seoul on May 3, 2018.[3] [4]

During the second half of 2018, GOPAX obtained two certifications regarding information system security: ISO/IEC 27001 in July, and K-ISMS certification from the Korea Internet & Security Agency in October. GOPAX was the first crypto exchange in the world to obtain ISO/IEX 27001 certification, and the first Korean exchange to receive K-ISMS certification.[5]

GOPAX was an initial launch partner for Blockstream's Liquid Network, which launched in October 2018.[6]

GOPAX was one of the seven exchanges reported to have passed a 4-month security audit performed by the Korean government, alongside Bithumb, Upbit, Coinone, Korbit, Hanbitco, and Huobi Korea.[7]
