Gabriel Opoku-Asare is a Ghanaian corporate affairs and public policy executive. As of 2026, he serves as Chief Export Development Officer at Ghana's 24-Hour Economy Authority (Office of the President) and as an advisory member of the Presidential Committee for Accelerated Export Development (PCAED).[1][2] Earlier in his career he held senior corporate affairs, sustainability and government-relations roles at Unilever Ghana, Guinness Ghana Breweries, and the global drinks company Diageo, where he led corporate affairs functions in Africa, Southeast Asia and North America.[3][4][5][6]

Unilever Ghana
Opoku-Asare was Head of Corporate Affairs at Unilever Ghana from 2014 to 2016, a role in which he was widely quoted in Ghanaian media discussing the company's palm oil sourcing and sustainability initiatives.[7]
Guinness Ghana Breweries / Diageo
In April 2016, Opoku-Asare was appointed Executive Director of Corporate Relations at Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited, a subsidiary of Diageo.[3][8] At the 2018 Ghana CSR Awards he was named CSR Practitioner of the Year, while Guinness Ghana Breweries was named CSR Manufacturing Company of the Year, in recognition of his leadership of the company's corporate social responsibility programme.[9]
He was subsequently appointed Head of Society, Africa for Diageo PLC, based in London, a role announced in Ghanaian and pan-African media in 2019.[4][10][11] In this capacity he spoke publicly on behalf of the Africa Plastics Recycling Alliance, an industry initiative launched by Diageo, Unilever, Nestlé and Coca-Cola in 2019 to expand post-consumer plastics collection across Africa.[12]
In December 2021, Diageo announced his appointment as Corporate Relations Director for Southeast Asia, based in Singapore.[5][13] In May 2023, he was named Director of Society (ESG) for Diageo North America, based in Washington, D.C.[6][14]
Government of Ghana
In May 2025, Opoku-Asare was named to the Accelerated Export Development Advisory Committee (AEDAC), later described in his role as advisory member of the Presidential Committee for Accelerated Export Development (PCAED), a body chaired by the President of Ghana.[2]
In November 2025, he was appointed Chief Export Development Officer at Ghana's 24-Hour Economy Authority (Office of the President), leading the Accelerated Export Development Unit and its work toward the government's target of US$10 billion in non-traditional exports by 2030.[1][15] Speaking at the Citi Business Festival in June 2026, he said the initiative had signed four "bankable" investment projects within a 90-day period and set a goal of creating 1.7 million jobs by 2028.[1][16]
