Gacha Life is a dress-up game that has a cartoonish art style and uses gacha game mechanics. Its primary features are making your own characters, talking to NPCs and playing minigames. It is produced by Lunime, nicknamed as “Luni”.
Gameplay[edit]
It is primarily used for making original characters, and making YouTube skits. Character presets are included, which can be used as an alternate option. There are mini games which, when played, rewards you with gems. These gems are used to earn gifts, which can be used to increase your friendship level with the NPCs, and stamina, which are used to interact with the NPCs. There is a Studio mode included where you can insert your characters, and make them say dialogue, which the player can customize.
Friendship Levels[edit]
Friendship levels are used to indicate your friendship bond with the NPCs, hence the name. Reaching a level requires friendship points, which you earn by choosing an option. When you reach a certain level, you unlock a These options consume stamina (shortened to SP) which the player can hold 200. There are 4 options to choose from. Talk, Ask, Gift and Quiz consumes 2, 3, 5, and 50 stamina respectively. Gifting consumes 3 stamina for every item you gift. These items are identified by ranks from 1-6, and these items give you 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 500 points respectively.
Criticism[edit]
Gacha Life has been the subject of many awful reviews about the community. This is because most of the community makes content described as cringe and uploads them to YouTube, then ending up in the Recommended section of YouTube and eventually getting a commentary about the video in general, or the community. Most of the community’s YouTube posts have either bad grammar, scenarios unsuitable for children or cringe GLMVs (short for Gacha Life Movies).
