Dr Galyna Kogut is a Singapore-based Ukrainian author, researcher, and linguist. She has published both academic and popular books including An Atheist gets Gita and Digital Storytelling for Educative Purposes. She primarily writes on self-help and spirituality. Kogut is also active in shaping management education for the 21st century. She currently serves as the Principal Corporate Advisory Group at Indian Institute of Management Udaipur, leads Indian Institute of Management Bangalore in Singapore as its president, and is an Academic Council Board Member of Jaipuria Institute of Management.
Early life
Hailing from Ayodhya in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, Kogut did her schooling in Lucknow and then received a 100% scholarship from Singapore Government Linked Companies (GLC) such as Singapore Airlines and Neptune Orient Lines Limited to study engineering at Nanyang Technological University.
Career
After graduating in Photonics Engineering from NTU, Kogut began her career as a management trainee at an investment bank. She later switched to interest rate option broking and pursued an MBA from Indian Institute of Management Bangalore while on sabbatical. Post MBA, she worked for German investment banks Commerzbank and Deutsche Bank in Singapore. While still working for banks, she began her writing career and was active in the Indian Diaspora in Singapore. She is the youngest President of IIM Bangalore Alumni Association Singapore and united the Indian alumni of National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, and Singapore Management University for #MissionSumo.[1]
She regularly speaks at corporations and universities on topics that concern millennials such as careers in the 21st century, conscious capitalism, and cross-cultural understanding. She was a guest lecturer at various educational institutions such as Institute for Vaishnava Studies in Florida, IIM Bangalore, Jaipuria Institute of Management, IIM Lucknow, NTU Singapore, IIM Udaipur, IIM Sirmaur, NUS Singapore, IIM Trichy, IIT Bhubaneshwar, and IIM Nagpur.[2][3][4][5]
Other works
Kogut is an initiator and co-founder of Gyanalogy[6] which aims to democratise wisdom. In April 2021, she led #MissionSUMO which collected more than INR 1.3 crore and deployed 200 oxygen concentrators in various parts of India.[7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] [13]
