Gangbusters Ltd. is a UK-based business and software development private limited company.[1] They are the sole developers of Battletabs, a multiplayer online strategy game that opens in a new tab for fast and easy access. Gangbusters Ltd. was previously named MARKD Ltd.[1] and claims to have over 1 million users on Battletabs.

Gangbusters Ltd. was founded on the 28th of November, 2018 under the name of MARKD Ltd. Their first known project was Battletabs, a game where players could battle each other in a game similar to Battleships. The company started off with 2 self-hired employees, which (as of 01/07/2022), turned into a team of 5 people, consisting of 2 software engineers, 1 game designer, 1 community manager and 1 art designer, all working on battletabs.[2]
In December 2020, the Battletabs team talked with Poki.com to add the classic version (the version of Battletabs when it was first released), to their platform. The project, in the end, was abandoned.
On August 2020, the Battletabs team partnered with Fractal to bring NFTs and collectable cards into the game. At this time, a token was awarded to the top 20 players each day for 14 days and after that period ended they would have to "mint" their NFT.[3] Only up to 250 gold tokens were available and 250 silver (or platinum) were available, for those who contributed towards the community.
In October 2022, popular Japanese entertainment company Bandai Namco Entertainment agreed to invest 3 billion Japanese yen into Gangbusters Ltd. over the course of 3 years. Among the other investments made during the "021 fund" were Gaudiy Inc., Genies Inc., Phoenixx Inc. and other notable projects.[4][5]
Battletabs[edit]
Battletabs is an online multiplayer Board game where players have to battle each other using either custom or preset "fleets", of which consist of 4 ships, each with a unique special ability and cool down. Battletabs is known within the web3 development and web gaming communities for pushing the limits of Web3 Gaming[6]. Battletabs was estimated to be made in late 2018-early 2019. The game is currently available in the Chrome Web Store as well as Edge Add-ons (Microsoft Edge), meaning that it is available on all Chromium (web browser) browsers, such as Brave (web browser) and Opera (web browser).
