Garai Mavletbaevich Bagmanov (November 7th, 1923 - August 19, 1996) - foreman of the rig operators of the “Tatburneft” trust, LLC Tatburneft.

BIOGRAPHY

Garai was born on November 7th, in the Masyagutovo village in the district of Aznakaevskiy, in the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in a peasant family. Tatar. After completing 9 grades in his native village, left for Donbas. Worked in the mines, simultaneously continuing his studies in the school of fabric manufacturing.

During the first days of World War II he returned home and from there soon went to the battlefront. He became an artilleryman, fought at one of the battlefronts in Ukraine. He earned the officer rank and participated in the assault of Berlin.

After he came back from the battlefront, got a job managing drilling mines in the October town, worked as a carpenter of the drilling office #1, “Tuimazaneft” trust. Then, he worked in Siberia for several years. He worked as a carpenter in the tower assembly department, “Minusinskneftegazrazvedka” trust, in the Hakass subdepartment of exploratory drilling, in the Minusinsk office of the exploratory drilling.

Since 1956, worked in the industrial association “Tatneft’”. In 1956 - 1959, the carpenter of the tower assembly, the foreman of the carpenters of the tower assembly, the foreman of the carpenters and workers of the tower assembly in the organization “Almetyefburneft’” trust. According to the book “Three Billion. History”, in 1960 Bagmanov’s team was one of the first ones to master the large-block drill mounting. This was the requirement of the times. So many wells were needed, old fashioned styles of labor organization and the industrial process in drill mounting were not catching up with how quickly oil was produced.

Record after the record was set by his team. One of the records - 138 drills in a year - stayed unbeaten for 4 years across the country. To build faster, safer, and … cheaper. In 1970 - 1979 worked as a carpenter in the tower assembly department in the office of the tower building and drilling “Aznakaevskburneft”, with trust by the same name.

He has worked in the tower assembly department for over 30 years, during those years he educated and prepared tens of young successors. While the norm for building a drilling tower was 2,23 days, Bagmanov’s team built it in 1, 86 days on average, saving not only time but also significant tangible resources.

In 1980 - general manager of the recreation center “Ik”, 1980 - 1988 - gardener - florist, principal of the children’s pioneer camp “Orlenok”. Lived in Aznakaevo town.

Passed away on August 19th, 1996.

THE AWARDS

He was awarded the Order of Lenin, the Order of the Red Banner of Labour, the Order of the Patriotic War of the 2nd extent, and medals; awarded a sign “Excellent Worker of the Oil Industry in the USSR”, “Hero of the Socialist Labor”.
