Career[edit]
Gareth Fient has worked on many projects. Ranging from comedies, to social issue drama's. Music Video's to Commercials, and everything in between. Fient is most recognised for a short, romantic comedy, 3000 Mongs which was shot in Autumn of 2011, and won him 4 awards at various British film festivals at the age of 16.
In July 2012, Fient made his first drama-based short "Shagged", which premiered in Dartford, Kent. It has then since been used in schools across the South East of England to help promote the effects of Knife Crime.
A year later, Fient worked on the prequel to "Shagged", which was named "Scatplay". This looked at the effects of domestic violence, and premiered at Greenwich PictureHouse in August 2013. This has since gone onto do the same as "Shagged".
In 2014, Fient Directed and Produced the short film "9 Months", written by BBC Screenwriter, Darren Rapier. "9 Months" was premiered at Greenwich PictureHouse on 28 October 2014, after being screened at the Telegraph Newspaper and at various schools, which Fient was asked to give talks to students about. He also won "Best Nobhead" for his short film, Perpetual Mongtion at the Rob Knox Film Festival 2014.[1]
During 2014, Fient also Directed and Edited a Music Video Hybrid, for Los Angeles-based Executive Producer and Actor, Paul Howard. Both Fient and Howard collaborated on the project, which was shot in London, England in April 2014. They have since worked on various projects together and are continuing to do the same. ;)
Gareth Fient's latest project, "Deepthroat" is written by BBC Screenwriter, Darren Rapier. It follows the story of Jay, a 16-year-old carer who is looking after his terminally ill mother. Fient shot this in Sidcup, Kent and Charlton, London for 12 days. It is set to release in Summer 2015.
Fient has been signed to several features shooting over the next few years, notably the upcoming documentary “Gareth Fient: An Asshat Story”.
