From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Garrett Albury (born May 8, 1996 in Palm City, FL) is an American designer based in Washington, District of Columbia. While he specializes in user experience design, he keeps himself busy with numerous creative side-projects. Currently, Albury is working as a full-time designer at Capital One.[1].

Education[edit]

Albury attended Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia where he received a B.F.A in User Experience Design in 2018. While studying User Experience Design, he also took specialized courses in Architecture, Industrial Design, and Sand Sculpture[2]

Career[edit]

The beginning of Albury's design career can be traced to his time at 24e Design Co. in Savannah, GA. During his 3 year tenure (2015-2018) at 24e Design Co., Albury worked on a variety of projects from interior experience to furniture design. Working on this collaborative team continues to inform much of his design philosophy.

During the summer of 2017, Albury made a user experience design pilgrimage of sorts to San Francisco, CA. While in San Francisco, he spent his time as a Design Development Program intern on the Small Business Card design team at Capital One[3].

Upon his completion of his B.F.A degree in User Experience Design in 2018, Albury returned to work at Capital One, this time on the newly-formed People Development Design team in Washington, DC.

Creative Side Projects[edit]

Albury notably spends much of his time working on small creative side projects[4]. In early 2019, he began a weekly playlist series entitled 52x9. He also manages a collaborative Instagram account dedicated to documenting stickers, as they occur in life.

Historically, Albury has been involved in a diverse range of musical acts. During 2012-2014 he recorded a series of his original compositions with band, Maddy's Twin[5][6]. Albury remains in touch and in reverence to founding members Julianne Rotne, Richard Miele, and Frank Giampietro. He is currently writing somber songs to be recorded at an unannounced time.
