Gary Chapman (born 1961) is a British-born filmmaker who has so far directed one film in his career. He created dioramas for the Imperial War Museum in England.

Chapman was born in Manchester, England. At the age of 17, he won a national sculpture competition which launched a long career as a commercial artist.

At the beginning of the nineties, he moved to Los Angeles and found himself, by accident, in the film business. He devised and sold his first film project Junk (currently in production) to Warner Bros. for $1 Million dollars. From that, he has move to creat and sell projects to various companies including Lionsgate Films, ABC Television, and Sony Family Entertainment, in addition to optioning projects to independent producers.

Gary made his directorial debut with Valiant. Initially hired for character and production design during project development, and ultimately hired to direct the film after extensive working with story development, writers, and producers. Successfully directed the project at both the Los Angeles and London facilities.

Gary has designed characters for the Vanguard Animation movie Space Chimps.

Chapman created concept, designed characters, and built sculptures for Alien Band and Shnoz, animated features in development with Vanguard.
