Gary Concepcion’s Tenure on Leicester City Council

- First elected in March 2016, representing Belgrave, Rushey Mead and North Evington.
- Re-elected in March 2018, now also representing Troon.
- Became Chairman of the Leicester City Young People’s Council in April 2017.
- Awarded the Lord Lieutenant’s Young Person of the Year Young Braveheart Award the day after being elected as Chairman.
- Gives keynote speeches at numerous conferences.
- Interviews candidates for jobs within the Council, such as service managers, directors and social workers.
- Attends scrutiny and other such meetings with the Mayor and other Councillors and Directors.
- Conceived the idea of a Youth Mayor of Leicester, also being the First Young Citizen of Leicester and developed and created it.
- Standing to be Mayor of Leicester in 2023.
