Gary Swidler
Gary Swidler serves as chief operating officer (COO) and chief financial officer (CFO) of Match Group. In these roles, Swidler has diverse responsibilities, which range from finance, accounting, and tax to user privacy, safety, and data security. He’s also involved in the company’s tax, treasury, corporate development, strategy, investor relations, communications, and ad sales.
Swidler first joined Match Group as CFO in 2015, shortly before the group’s successful initial public offering (IPO) in November 2015. Swidler provided expertise during the IPO preparation and launch, and he’s proven instrumental to the group’s financial and other operations in the six years since.
Before coming onboard with Match Group, Gary Swidler spent 18 years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He held multiple positions from 1997 until 2015, the most notable of which was managing director. In this position, Swidler led the Financial Institutions Investment Banking Group. Swidler has also worked as an associate at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, a prominent law firm based in New York City.
Gary Swidler graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School with a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1992. He also completed a juris doctor degree at New York University’s School of Law in 1995.
