Gaute Johannessen (born 19 August 1967) is a retired Norwegian football midfielder.

He came through the youth ranks of FK Vidar and represented Norway as a youth international. He played for Viking FK from 1990 through 1992, winning the 1991 Eliteserien. In 1993 he joined Bryne FK, and finished his playing career in Vidar. He also became manager of Vidar, albeit after a five-season manager spell in Buøy.[1][2][3][4]
