Gavin Fitzjohn
Gavin Fitzjohn is a Welsh saxophone and trumpet player.
Early life
Gavin was born in St David's Hospital, Cardiff[citation needed] and brought up in Cogan, Vale of Glamorgan.
Musical career
After finishing school, Gavin joined Adequate Seven, playing trumpet with the band for three years. Following the band's split, Gavin joined Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly[1] and later Paolo Nutini's band, for whom he continues to record[2] and perform live. Gavin spent the majority of 2012 in the USA playing trumpet and guitar for the Cirque Du Soleil show Koozå.
In addition, Gavin has also recorded and performed for a variety of popular artists, including Jools Holland, Manic Street Preachers, Gruff Rhys, Hard-Fi and Nadine Coyle.[3]
Personal life
A keen sportsman, Gavin has taken part in charity events, including a 10k run for Cancer Research.[4] He has also played midfield for a Sunday League football team.[5]
