Gavin McHugh
Gavin McHugh (born 6 May 2010)[1] is an American actor. He is best known for his role as Christopher Diaz in the television drama 9-1-1.[2][3]
Personal life
McHugh was adopted from Latvia when he was two years old.[4] He is the youngest of five children.[5] McHugh was born with cerebral palsy and is affected by spastic diplegia, cortical visual impairment, and mild hip displaysia.[1][6] He and his family moved from Atlanta to Los Angeles in 2015 to pursue acting opportunities.[7]
Career
McHugh auditioned for 9-1-1 in 2018.[6] It was his first major role on network television. He had previously done commercials for Honda, Walmart, Advantist Health, and Lincoln Financial.[8][9] After the introduction of his character Christopher Diaz in 9-1-1's second season, he became part of the main cast from season 3 until season 7.[10] He takes pride in representing cerebral palsy and disability on television with his character Christopher.[11][12]
