Gayathri Gupta is an Indian Telugu language actress and TV presenter. She is known for her progressive and liberal views.[citation needed] She is known for her debates in Telugu News Channels about casting couch issue in Tollywood.[citation needed] She is known to be straight forward and frank.[citation needed]

Early life[edit]

Gupta was born in Jogipet (Sangareddy district) in Telangana State. She is the eldest of five daughters. She did her engineering in Nalgonda.

Career[edit]

Gayatri Gupta moved to Hyderabad to pursue a career in Tollywood. She started her career at Sakshi TV in 2006.

Film career[edit]

She became popular with a short film, Pelliki Mundu.[1] Gupta gained fame after acting in Ice Cream 2 and Fidaa. She had also sung, wrote, styled, and directed her music video in 2017, Ninnu Chusthu Unna.

  • She alleged that a Telugu film producer tried to rape her and also asked sexual favours, after accepting their movie.[9]
  • she protest to ban Bigg Boss Telugu Season 3 along with TV journalist Swetha Reddy, who accused four representatives of the show of sexual harassment, camped outside Jantar Mantar in delhi, demanding justice. Calling for the show to put on hold until measures are taken to prevent sexual harassment, the duo have put forth a set of demands Gupta, Swetha Reddy appeal to NCW to ban the show
