Gbokpoe is a name of the stool of the clan who led the land of Djanglanmey ( Kotafon land ) in West Africa from the XVII century. Nowadays the history of Djanglanmey is preserved by the traditional guardian Adze Gbokpoe Ist, grandson of Ga Gbokpoe. The capital town of Djanglanmey is Ga Kome, the district of Ga Gbokpoe. This family descends from the great Ewe ethnicity formed by Fon, Kotafon, Mayi, Guin, Mina, Anlo, Watchi. All the Ewe race left Africa, the motherland, to visit other lands. After that, they returned back to their motherland. When they arrived in Asia, they taught other people their religion (Yewe worship) and culture and tradition. From Babylone, Ewe people were called Hamu[1]. Ewe people arrived in Egypt centuries before Jesus Christ. In their culture and tradition, Jesus Christ is called Criso ( Mawu so ). In Egypt, Ewe people built pyramids. They were scientists because of their religion, Yewe.
Ewe people left Egypt because of war. They arrived in Sudan, from Sudan to Ghana empire, from Ghana empire they arrived at Oyo ( Ile Ife ), from Oyo in Nigeria they arrived at Tado ( the reflect of Babylone, the first Adja Tome ). When they were moving to Adja Tado, some of Ewe people went to south Togo ( now Benin ), others became a part of Kotafon. Some of them were coming from Adja Tado to build the kingdom of Dahomey and the kingdom of Allada. Some are Mayi people. Because of the spirit of domination and power, there was a war and slave trade between Africans ( Ewe people ) before the European slave trade. Djanglanmey land was vast; it is because the wars of conquest in the XVIIth century that the princes of Tado, descendants of Dah Houegbadza, founder of Dahomey, fought the people of Djanglanmey to adorn themselves with these lands.
The financial activity of this land was agriculture. And the royal family cultivated the palm tree because palm oil business was the expansive business in West Africa. After the palm oil business, the family controlled the slave trade in the area.

The king name in the local language is Togbui or Ga. Togbui in west side and Ga or Da in east side.
At 19th century, the royal family faced a problem of infertility that was eating away the family; they decided to marry the princess of Ga Gbokpoe to an alienated family member. And it is at this time the healing herbalist Vedze Bossou appeared. Bossou Vedze is from the family of Dutõ ( the owner of the land Djanglanmey ). From this marriage, Adze was born. Adze Gbokpoe perpetuated the history of Djanglanmey. Vedze Bossou's grandfather's name was Aze and this man was a warrior who controlled the slave trade in the area.
