Fictional character biography[edit]
Innocent, trusting and kind, all Gemma has ever wanted was a family. She thought she’d won the national Lottery when she married Steve (portrayed by Jonas Armstrong) and found herself pregnant expecting their first child, but her world is shattered when her husband is questioned and arrested for murder. Vulnerable and naïve, it seems initially that Gemma out of her depth and very much ill-equipped to cope with the crisis.
