Gene Zaino

Gene Zaino (born June 20, 1957) is an American businessman, currently Chief Executive Officer of MBO Partners.

Early career[edit]

Zaino attended the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business, where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Economics (BSE) in December 1979.

He worked as a CPA and management consultant for KPMG, and has built and sold a number of consulting companies that have received funding by benefactors including Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Austin Ventures, and Goldman Sachs.

MBO Partners[edit]

Since 1996, Zaino has been focused on his long-term vision to "re-invent the way independent consultants and organizations work together."[1]

Today, MBO Partners delivers a business operating system that supports the rapidly growing independent workforce. As of June 2016, they have helped more than 50,000 independent professionals deliver $3 billion in services across thousands of companies. MBO Partners is also a preferred vendor of the US government and large enterprises, including more than 60 of the Fortune 500.[2]

Thought Leadership[edit]

A frequent contributor and public speaker, Zaino has been featured on CNN, CNBC, Forbes, Harvard Business Review, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and The Huffington Post. He has also led executive seminars at the Project Management Institute, the Institute for Supply Management, and the Military Officers Association of America.

Zaino has also served on the expert advisory board for the Human Capital Institute, and collaborated with industry leaders to create and develop their Contract Talent Research Practice Area.
