Genias

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Genias was an Italian video game publisher and developer, originally founded in September of 1989 in Castenaso by Riccardo Arioti, after he left Simulmondo. The company's headquarters was in Bologna. They were among the most important Italian video game publishers in the 80s and 90s, mostly releasing games on the Amiga and Commodore 64, along with Atari ST and MS-DOS, until the company folded in 1993.

The first titles published by the company were World Cup 90 and the textual adventure Mystere[1]. Through agreements with companies like Merit Software in the US and Linel in Europe, Genias managed to publish titles all over the world, most notably the volleyball arcade title Over The Net[2] and the top-down 2D racing game Warm Up. In 1991 they also released the first game by Trecision, the semi-textual adventure game Profezia. Their 1992 Commodore 64 conversion of Chuck Rock, while awarded a 96% in Zzap![3] was never officially published outside of Italy.
