George Kelechi Stanley (born 2 July 1990 in Owerri, Imo State) is a Nigerian footballer who currently plays for Phnom Penh Crown in the Cambodian League. He is the oldest of seven children and is the brother of former Boeung Ket Rubber Field defender Chukwuma Ohuruogu.
Career[edit]
He first arrived in Cambodia in 2014, on trial with Boeungket before signing for AEU and netted 10 goals in the second half of the season. Last year he was on fire with 23 goals for AEU, though a move to Army fell through midway through the season. His first club in Nigeria was the youth team of Unity Boys in the Nigerian capital of Abuja, where he remained for seven years. He then spent a season with Gabros in Anambra State before his first venture overseas to Vietnam. He spent two years there, the first trying to find a club and then spent a season with Fico Tay Ninh in the V-League. After two more seasons back in Nigeria with Rivers United, with whom he reached the final of the amateur Challenge Cup, he made the decision to play his football in Cambodia. On 25 January 2016, Kelechi signed one year contract with Cambodian most successful club Phnom Penh Crown.[1] .
