Georges Liautaud (26 January 1899 – 8 August 1992) was a Haitian sculptor.[1][2]

Georges Liautaud was born in Croix-des-Bouquets on January 26, 1899, where a few years later his artistic career began. In 1953, his works of crosses were noticed by the American DeWitts Peter, an art lover established in Haiti, founder of the Centre d'Art. The work of Liautaud was the manufacture of a certain number of forged parts then is devoted solely to the cutting and the chiselling of the recycled metal of the drums. An innovation that opened up new technical and thematic possibilities. Hence the birth of cut iron craftsmanship, which grew in the 1970s.[2][1]
