Gerald Venzl is an Austrian software engineer and product manager working for Oracle. He is best known for his work with and around databases, particularly Oracle Database.[1][2][3], and csv2db[4], a command-line data loading utility for databases. Venzl was one of the first people to advocate the use of containerized databases and to provide means to create database Docker images[5], ultimately building his own Docker images for Oracle Database.

Gerald Venzl grew up in Austria, lived in New York[6] and San Francisco.
Career
Gerald Venzl works for Oracle Corporation since 2012 where he currently holds the title of Senior Director of Product Management[7]
In 2022, Redgate named him one of the most influential people in the database community as part of the Redgate 100 ranking.
