Geza Hosszu-Legocky
Geza Hosszu-Legocky[1]Alma Mater Vienna Academy of Music now called the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna Austria. Hosszu-Legocky was born in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1985 to Hungarian-Ukrainian parents.[2]
Hosszu-Legocky, identified as a child prodigy was accepted into the formerly known Vienna Academy of Music at the age of 6.[3]
Collaborations
Hosszu-Legocky has collaborated and worked with many high profile musicians, including Ivry Gitlis, Martha Argerich and Yehudi Menuhin.[4]
Achievements
As a child star prodigy[5], Hosszu-Legocky's talent enabled him to be presented onto Austrian television from the age of 9.
Hosszu-Legocky was 10 years old when he won 1st Prize at the Prima La Musica Competition that is held in Austria for children and young people.[6]
Hosszu-Legocky performed as the child gypsy violinist in The Red Violin film, 1998.[5]
Hosszu-Legocky was nominated for a Grammy Award along with Martha Argerich within the category of 'Recording of the Year' in 2004.[7]
Nominated for a Grammy Award with his Hungarian Folk Band called The 5 Devils within the category of 'Recording of the Year' in 2023.[8]
