Gian Kumar (born 26 Jan 1953) is an Indian spiritual writer. He has written three books, Know Thyself, Think from the heart Love from the mind and The Ultimate Reality.[1]

Background[edit]

Kumar was born in Burma (now Myanmar), in a religious, Hindu family. He was sent to a Christian school, where the nuns instilled discipline and Christian concepts in him.

His first book, ‘'Know Thyself'’, describes his early insights of getting to know the real self through practices of introspection, yoga and meditation. He says, "When life is submerged in the trappings of materialism and existence revolves around ‘me, mine and myself’, we experience the hollow feeling all that is ours today is ephemeral — both the emotional and the material." Further, "Acquiring the knowledge about the truth of our existence, and knowing how to manage the incessant churning of our thoughts is essential to the art of living."

Work[edit]

Gian Kumar has published three books of spirituality. In 2011, Gian Kumar wrote Know Thyself, his first major work.[2] The publication of Think from the heart Love from the mind, a 358-page novel, put Kumar into the public limelight.[3] The Ultimate Reality, deals with the troubled mind life.
