Gianduia (software framework)
Gianduia technology was introduced at the community-run 2009 World of WebObjects Developer Conference. Gianduia is described as being a client-side web standards based framework for Rich Internet application. Gianduia is named after the Italian hazelnut chocolate.
The Framework is being discussed in the media as a potential replacement to Adobe Flash and Microsoft Silverlight however, very little is actually known about it at present, and initial reports show it is more similar to other JavaScript frameworks, like Cappucino. Gianduia is based on HTML5 markup and JavaScript.[1]
It appears Apple has already been using Gianduia for a while in Apple retail applications such as the iPhone reservation system, the Genius Bar, MobileMe, iTunes TuneKit, iPhone PastryKit, and the iPad AdLib.[2][3]
