Giju John is an actor and producer predominantly working in Indian film Industry. His notable roles include Ranam (2018), Lucifer (2019, Forensic (2020), Kumari (2021) and Antony (2023). He was also one of the producers of Kumari. Prior to becoming an actor, Giju was known for his work as a singer-songwriter in the Latin-Indian fusion music genre.[2][3] Giju's single Más Bhangraton was the finalist at the International Song Writing competition (ISC) 2015.[4]
Career[edit]
In 2011, Giju started his acting career with Sandeep Mohan's "Love, Wrinkle-free", which he had also co-produced. He went on producing an acting in two more Indie films, Hola Venky! (2014) and Shreelancer (2017) and also the comedy series "Metro Park" (2019 & 2021).
In 2018, Giju marked his acting debut in the South Indian film industry with the Yes Cinema Production film Ranam (2018 film).[5][6][7] Followed by that, he was cast as Sanjeev Varma in Prithviraj Sukumaran's directorial debut Lucifer[8][9]. In 2020, in the movie Forensic, he portrayed the role of Dr Alphonse Kurien, the serial killer. In Kumari (2022), a fantasy-thriller film which he had produced under the banner of "Fresh Lime Sodas" partnering with Nirmal Sahadev, Jakes Bejoy and Sreejith Sarang, he played the feudal lord, Achuthan. Giju worked with the renowned director Joshiy in the 2023 film Antony, playing the role of James.
Giju is also a singer-songwriter specializing in Latin-Indian fusion music genre..[2][3] In 2007, Giju debuted his first musical album Rang Rangeeli Yeh Duniya.[10] Giju was one of the principal dancers with SalsaMania Dance Co, until 2008.[11] In 2017, Giju released Bachata Indu, a Bachata fusion album, which was co-produced by Christian Tumalan.[12][13]
