Gil Pereg is an Israeli educator. He is the founding CEO of Israeli-based Darca Schools, a non-profit organization that operates a network of over 40 schools with over 25,000 students.
Biography[edit]
Gil Pereg received a doctorate in education from Northeastern University. His doctoral thesis was focused on effective practices of successful principals..[1] He has a Master's degree in Public Administration from Harvard University, a Masters in Jewish Philosophy (with honors), and a Bachelor of Law degree from Bar Ilan University.[2]
Pereg is a graduate of the Wexner Israel Fellowship and the Eisenhower Fellowships leadership program as well as co-chair of the alumni association of the Eisenhower program in Israel.[2]
Pedagogic career[edit]
Pereg was the principal of Blich High School in Ramat Gan, Israel in 2004-2011. Prior to that, he was the principal at Amit High School at Bar-Ilan University.[3] Pereg has served as CEO of Darca Schools since its inception in 2011.[4]
Published works[edit]
In 2017, Pereg published the book Judea Capta; Talmudic Readings and Contemporary Reflections.[5] Dr. Pereg has been published in leading publications, such as Stanford Social Innovation Review[6] and Private Equity News[7]. He has been interviewed by The Jerusalem Post[8], The Wall Street Journal[9], and The TechEd Podcast[10]
