Giuseppe Giliberti (Naples, 29 settembre 1950) is an Italian historian and jurist.

Biography[edit]

Giuseppe Giliberti was born in Naples in 1950. He graduated at the Law School of the University Federico II in Naples where he was a pupil of F. P. Casavola . His research on the Roman Constitution and on labour in Late Antiquity was influenced by F. De Martino. Giliberti was full professor of Foundations of European Law at the University of Urbino. He also taught Human Rights in the Universities of Urbino, Bologna, Tarragona, Firenze. He is the director of the scientific magazine "Cultura giuridica e diritto vivente" (Urbino University).[1]. He lives in Bologna. Deeply involved in human rights education, academic international relations and science diplomacy, Giliberti promoted several projects such as the EU university network "A Philosophy for Europe". He promoted cultural cooperation between Europe and the South-Mediterranean countries as a co-founder of the Euro-Mediterranean University in Piran (Slovenia) and of the Italian Network for Euro-Mediterranean Dialogue. Giliberti also founded the EPHESO Award for Euromediterranean relations (Milan)[2]
