Gillian Muessig is an American entrepreneur. She co-founded the Seattle-based company Moz.

Career[edit]

Muessig is the founding president of Moz, a Seattle-based company that sells inbound marketing and marketing analytics software subscriptions.

She founded Moz along with her eldest son Rand Fishkin[2]. Muessig left the search marketing software company in 2012 and, since then, she is advising various organizations, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Gillian Muessig is also CEO of the Venture Capital firm Outlines Venture Group and founding partner of the Sybilla Masters Fund, together with Microsoft veteran Alka Badshah and Outlines Venture President Anne Kennedy[3]. The Sybilla Masters Fund, which got named after the female American inventor Sybilla Righton Masters who went to England seeking the first patent for a person residing in America, funds companies with at least one woman in a leadership position.[4]
