Giorgio Guglielmino

Giorgio Guglielmino (Genoa, 1957) is an Italian diplomat and a writer on contemporary art.

As a diplomat he has served, among others, as Consul General in Kolkata (1996 / 1999) ad Deputy Head of Mission in Buenos Aires (2006 / 2010), as Ambassador to Bangladesh (2010 / 2014) and as Ambassador to the Philippines (2017 to present).

He has written various books on contemporary art and has a permanent column on "Il Giornale dell'Arte".

His main books are:

"Le opere d'arte trafugate - legislazione e normativa internazionale" (Nardini, 1996)

"Come guardare l'arte contemporanea e vivere felici" (Allemandi, 2001, paperback updated edition 2007), translated into English and published as "How to look at conemporary art and like it"(Allemandi, 2008)

"Ladies & Gentlemen - le 200 persone che contano di più nell'arte contemporanea" (Allemandi, 2005)

"Le parole dell'arte contemporanea"(Allemandi, 2009)

"Beatrice e la Transavanguardia"a children's book written with Beatrice Carpani (Hopefulmonster, 2010)

"This is now - a geographical guide to cutting edge contemporary art"(published in English by Allemandi, 2013)

He has co-produced the first season of the web series "Be here nowish" (2014) directed by Natalia Leite and Alexandra Roxo and the feature film "Bare" directed by Natalia Leite (2014) starring Dianna Agron and Paz de la Huerta. The film "Bare"premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2014.
