Giorgio Marchetti is the deputy general secretary of UEFA. He is also the director of competitions, having previously served as director of professional football from 2004–2007.[1] He also is the de jure draw conductor for UEFA and commonly seen leading proceedings at most Uefa Champions League and Uefa Europa League draws[2], usually alongside head of club competitions, Michael Heselschwerdt. He also is a member of the UEFA executive committee and was part of the presentation party of the trophy after the 2020 UEFA Champions League Final and 2020 UEFA Europa League Final. Along with his native Italian, Marchetti also speaks English, French and German. He is a supporter of Italian club AC Milan. He served as deputy secretary general of the Italian Football Federation from 1990 until 1997 and as secretary general from the former until joining UEFA in 2004.[3]
