Girlkind (Hangul: 걸카인드) is a South Korean five-member girl group formed by Next Level Entertainment. The group debuted on January 17, 2018 with the digital single "Fanci".[1][2] The group is composed of Xeheun, JK, Medic Jin, Sun J and Ellyn.

Pre-debut[edit]
Before their debut in 2018, Xeheun (previously known as Seheun) competed in the South Korean reality survival show Produce 101. However, she was ranked at number 93 in the fifth episode and was eliminated.[citation needed] All the members have been seen on the Girlkind YouTube channel doing dance covers of various songs such as "DNA" by BTS,and "Don't Wanna Cry" by Seventeen.[3] On January 3, 2018, Next Level Entertainment began revealing the members of their upcoming girl group Girlkind with the first video teaser for Xeheun on the group's YouTube channel,[3] showcasing her dance moves to an instrumental version of "Fanci". The video accumulated over 130,000 views (as of March 2018). The video teasers of other members were released in subsequent days, first being JK then followed by Sun J, Ellyn, and finally, Medic Jin on January 8.[citation needed]
2018–present: Debut with "Fanci"[edit]
On January 17, 2018, Girlkind made their official debut with the digital single "Fanci"[4]. They made their debut stage on the music program MBC Music's Show Champion.[5]
On April 7, they released their second digital single titled"Broccoli".[6]
