Give Me Trees Trust (also known as pedo ka aashram or monastery of trees) is a Delhi-based NGO working to plant trees with the help of community volunteers.[1][2] It was founded by Peepal Baba in 1977[citation needed] and registered in 2011.[3] The Trust has planted over 20 million trees, out of which 12.5 million are Peepal and Neem trees. The trust has around 10,000 volunteers who have planted trees in multiple regions including Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi NCR, Haryana, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan.[4]
270 tree clusters have been formed by the trust till 2019.[1] It has worked on 54 CSR projects for creating forests in India and owns 400 nurseries across the country.[1] The district administration of Sorka village in Noida, Uttar Pradesh gave five hectares of wasteland for creating an urban forest in 2017 for five years.[1] The forest is being planted in partnership with HCL foundation and is named Uday Upvan.[1]
