Her father Ali Öztaşdelen is the founder and owner of Milenyum Paten SK, where her brother Umur Öztaşdelen, acts as the club's general manager. [1] The club was originally only for figure skating from 2002 to 2007. The club was founded in 2002 as a result of other members of the family involved in figure skating wanted to get a new coach but had problems finding a place to train without their old coach being present. After members of the club watched some ice hockey games, they requested the club offer the sport.[6]

Ice hockey[edit]

Öztaşdelen continues her ice skating career as ice hockey player since 2006 in the family-owned club.[2] Her father owning the club was one of the reasons why she was able to take up and continue in the sport at an elite level.[6] Following the switch of the club from figure skating to both figure skating and ice hockey, a women's team playing in a national league, Milenyum Paten SK, was formed with Öztaşdelen a major part of the its early development.[6] Her participation with the club led to her national team call up.[6]

Allegedly lacking the money to pay the bill, teammates and others with the delegation chipped in to pay for her costs. Following that, she returned to the team's base later in the evening.[15][16][17][18] There were allegatopms that Öztaşdelen and another injured teammate were held hostage at the hospital until the bills were paid.[15][16][17][18]
