The Glass Academy is located in Dearborn, Michigan, just outside Detroit. It was founded in 2002 by artists Michelle Plucinsky and Chris Nordin. It is the largest glassblowing studio in the area, featuring a 12,000 sq. ft. gallery and hot shop full of functional and decorative glass works.

The hot shop functions during the week as a production studio, making awards for local businesses along with unique works of art for hotels, hospitals, lighting companies, and private collectors. In the 4,000 sq. ft. gallery, customers can find mid-range items for the home, a great selection of one-of-a-kind, handcrafted beer mugs, pumpkins, ornaments, and more.

During the evening, the studio comes alive with hands-on class experiences with originally designed classes like the Michigan Icicle (TM) or the Percolla Reed (TM).

Beginning in 2020, the Glass Academy began biweekly glassblowing livestreams. They can be found on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch.
