Glen Condie

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Brendan Glen Condie (born 12 June 1972) is an Australian film and TV producer originally from Sydney, Australia. Following a successful career in advertising and having sold two of the communications/event agencies he founded, Glen turned his attention fully to content creation across many forms, ranging from web and TV series to feature films.

One of his early forays into the industry, The Great Crusade (2011), for which he was Executive Producer, resulted in a 2012 International Emmy nomination.[1].

In 2014 he was Executive Producer for the Australian series Plonk (2014), a satirical comedy following a TV crew’s attempts to produce a wine show. Although originally envisaged as a web series, it was broadcast in Australia on Eleven in March 2014. A second series for which Condie served as Creative Consultant premiered on the streaming service Stan in 2015.

Turning to feature films, Condie was Executive Producer on Top End Wedding (2019) based on an original idea he developed with lead actress Miranda Tapsell and writer Josh Tyler. The film, directed by Wayne Blair and co-starring Gwilym Lee was shot largely in Australia’s Northern Territory (the “Top End”). It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2019 having been selected as one of only 112 feature films from a record high of 14,259 overall submissions[2]. Top End Wedding was released in May 2019 in Australia to wide public and critical acclaim (IMDB 7.2, Rotten Tomatoes 86%) and over the following months became the highest-grossing Australian film of 2019 exceeding AUD 5.1 million (US$ 3.4 million) [3]. The box office receipts will earn it a place in the Top 100 Australian Feature Films of all time, based on Screen Australia data[4]

In parallel with Top End Wedding, Condie co-created (with the Van Vuuren brothers) and was Executive Producer on Location Scouts (2019). This “behind the scenes” fictional comedy stars Doug Bowles and Tamala Shelton as a pair of location scouts assisting with the production of Top End Wedding. In a brief on-screen role Condie plays a priest who is tricked into allowing filming in his church. Location Scouts won Best Web Series at the Top Shorts Film Festival (July 2019) and has earned an official selection at the Los Angeles Film Awards 2019.
