From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Glen Cove is an upscale coastal neighborhood in Vallejo, California where bald eagles roam.[1]

There is a virtual clinic at the Safeway store there.[2] A bus service is provided by SolTrans route 3 to Curtola Park & Ride and Vallejo Station. There has been controversy regarding native Ohlone people buried here and the building of a park along this district situated along the Carquinez Strait[3] The neighborhood is governed by the Glen Cove Community Association. The district has its own baseball team, the Admirals.[4]

History[edit]

Since 1999 the city had debated the development of a park here where there are Native Americans buried. In 2011 a group of Native Americans occupied a park here for 108 days in protest of expanding the park and its facilities where their people are buried.[5] The controversy lasted for 12 years and included led to a compromise where parking was "dramatically scaled back" and the placement of the San Francisco Bay Trail, picnic tables, and restrooms would be consulted with the tribe.[6] The two tribes held a celebration of over 100 people with food, song, and dance at the 15 acre park.[7]

In 2016 the neighborhood suffered from a strong odor coming from a nearby oil spill.[8] A missing teen was searched for along the shore here.[9] In 2017 a 40 acre wildfire threatened homes in the area.[10]
