Glen Sanderson is a British Conservative politician who is the leader of Northumberland County Council. He has also been councillor for Longhorsley since 2005.

Political career

Sanderson became leader of Northumberland County Council in 2020 following the former leader Peter Jackson being ousted due to a vote of no confidence. [1]

He led the Conservative group in the 2025 local election, narrowly keeping control of the council from Reform UK.[2]

He serves on the Cabinet of the North East Combined Authority as portfolio holder for Rural Affairs and the Coast. [3]
