Glenn Llopis
Glenn Llopis is a Cuban-American author and entrepreneur.[1] He is founder and chairman of Glenn Llopis Group, a workforce development and business strategy consulting firm[2] based in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. He wrote the books The Innovation Mentality[3] and Earning Serendipity. [4][5][6] He has been a contributing writer to Forbes.com since December 2010.[7] He was featured in the book Entrepreneur Voices on Strategic Management.[8]
Llopis is known for his consulting work and public speaking related to the cultural demographic shift,[9][10][11][12] and for his work helping people develop their leadership identities.[13][14]
Early Life and Education
Llopis was born in Azusa, California, and earned his degree in political science from University of California, Los Angeles.[15] Llopis has written and spoken about what he has called the immigrant perspective on business leadership.[16] He attributed that philosophy to the ideals he learned from his father,[17] Frank Llopis, an international salsa musician and founding member of the Cuban musical group Los Llopis, who came to the United States from Cuba after the Castro revolution.[18]
Career
After graduating from UCLA, Llopis was a sales representative at Gallo Wine Company and led the consumer products sales division of Sunkist Juice Beverages, then was senior executive at American Seafoods Company.[19] In 1997, Llopis launched Luna Rossa Gourmet Foods.[20] In 2007 he founded the Glenn Llopis Group.[21] Llopis also founded the California-based Center for Hispanic Leadership,[22][23] and HealthyHispanicLiving.com.[24]
Books
Llopis wrote two books about innovation and leadership. Earning Serendipity: 4 Skills for Creating and Sustaining Good Fortune in Your Work was published by Greenleaf Book Group Press in 2009.[25] The Innovation Mentality: Six Strategies to Disrupt the Status Quo and Reinvent the Way We Work was published by Entrepreneur Press in 2017.[26]
Family
Llopis married Annette Prieto-Llopis, who shared their story on CNN about the challenges of facing infertility within the Hispanic community.[27] They started support groups[28] and offering resources for people facing similar challenges.[29]
