Glitterbeat Records is an independent record label based both in Hamburg, Germany and Ljubljana, Slovenia. It was founded in 2012 by co-owners Chris Eckman and Peter Weber as a subsidiary of Glitterhouse Records and the label’s first records were released in the spring of 2013. In 2014, Glitterbeat became independent from Glitterhouse.[1] The label specializes in "vibrant global sounds"[2] and is a five-time winner of the WOMEX “Best Label Award” (2014-2018)[3].

While first recording and releasing records by Malian bands, the label soon started working with bands from other parts of the world.[4]

Among its most popular artists are Altin Gün, YĪN YĪN, Tamikrest, Samba Touré and Gaye Su Akyol.

In 2017 Glitterbeat introduced a new label imprint: tak:til, which focuses on global instrumental music, by artists such as Brighde Chaimbeul, Širom and Park Jiha.
