Global Artificial Intelligence Summit is a conference for Artificial Intelligence that happens biennially in Saudi Arabia since 2020. Sdaia uses it to talk about new AI technologies. It was launched on September 2022 in Riyadh.[1]
Overview
AI Artathon (2020)
AI Artathon—a fusion of "art" and "hackathon"—was introduced as part of the Global AI Summit in Riyadh in January 2020. Over three days (January 23–25), about 300 AI experts, programmers, and artists from more than 50 countries competed to create AI-driven artworks.[2]
Riyadh Charter on Artificial Intelligence for the Islamic World (2024)
At the third Global AI Summit in Riyadh, ICESCO (Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) and SDAIA (Saudi Data & AI Authority) unveiled the “Riyadh Charter on Artificial Intelligence for the Islamic World.” It established an ethical governance framework for AI rooted in Islamic values—emphasizing privacy, human dignity, family preservation, equity, and solidarity. A proposed AI Monitoring Committee and a youth training initiative involving 25,000 participants were included.[3]
