The company relies on a team of in-house employees in its call centre to manually source and update its company data, alongside its patented web crawling technology. Global Database is a platform created and maintained by Global Data Intelligence Ltd, listing company data for businesses in various countries.[2][3][4][5] Most of its data is available to the public for free, GDPR compliant. The company’s main purpose is to bring full transparency to the way global business is conducted. Global Database was the first directory with free access to its Tenders and Grants Database, aggregating data from over 100 donors, such as World Bank, European Commission, European Bank, USAID, Statista and others.[citation needed]
Most of the data is taken from a wide range of authoritative sources, e.g. Companies House, and data gathered from publicly available sources. According to their website, along with human resources, Global Database apply a patented web crawling technology.[citation needed]
Global Database's main competitors include services such as Dun & Bradstreet, ZoomInfo and InsideView.[6]
