The Global Esports Federation (GEF) is a global organisation based in Singapore. Its aim is to support esports potential and make efforts to save eco-system by utilizing technologies.

Objectives[edit]

The Federation’s objectives include:

1. providing relevant standards and guidelines to national esports federations; 2. establishing an athlete/player commission; 3. convening and staging esports related events and programs; 4. supporting the development of world class governance structure and guidelines for the GEF; 5. creating and staging the Global Esports Games (GEG).

Leaders and members[edit]

The federation is currently led by Chris Chan (2020), the secretary-general of the Singapore National Olympic Council. Vice presidents include former secretary-general of the Chinese Olympic Committee Wei Jizhong, former Olympian and NGU consultants founder Charmaine Crooks, and Tencent Holdings VP Cheng Wu. Initial board members include OverActive Media CEO Chris Overholt, British Esports Association CEO Chester King, AC Milan chief business officer Lorenzo Giorgetti, and Calypso Investment chief investment officer Adrian Lismore. On April 13, GEF announced two important personnel appointments: former International Olympic Committee consultant and head of protocol department Paul J. FOSTER as GEF chief operating officer, and Sega Group President and JeSU Japan E-Sports Federation Hideki Okamura became a new member of the GEF Executive Committee.

Partnerships[edit]

At the worldwide launch ceremony in Singapore on December 16, 2019, the GEF signed an agreement establishing Tencent as a Founding Global Partner.
